OBITUARY

Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Esther Aromolaran (née Baruwa) was born on April 10, 1954, to the late Alhaji A. Baruwa, a direct descendant of the Baruwa Family of Lagos Island, Lagos State, and the late Mrs. Adunola Akinreti, a direct descendant of the Akinreti Olopo Compound in Ilode, Ile-Ife, Osun State. She was born in Ile-Ife, where she also spent part of her early childhood and began her foundational education. From an early age, Mrs. Aromolaran was nurtured in an environment grounded in peace, contentment, faith, discipline, and selflessness. These core values, instilled by her family, shaped her character and greatly influenced her lifelong contributions to religious life, education, family development, and community cohesion. She was known for her resourcefulness and unwavering commitment to service, always putting others before herself.

A significant part of her early life was spent in Ibadan under the care and guidance of her aunt, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Olayemi Oshodi, who played an important role in her upbringing. She later returned to Lagos, where she further pursued her career and personal development. Mrs. Aromolaran worked with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, where she demonstrated diligence and integrity. Alongside her public service, she actively engaged in entrepreneurship, showcasing her versatility and strong work ethic. In 1979, she gained national recognition as the 2nd runner-up in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, a testament to her elegance, poise, and confidence.
